circa 1890, with round 27 3/4in. blued barrel, block and blade fore-sight, ladder rear-sight with additional two folding and one standing leaves, scroll engraved blued receiver signed 'LOFLEY BRIGG' in a banner on the right hand side together with a bordered engraving of a lion and a tear-drop cocking indicator, the left side with the number '179' (possibly a patent use number) beneath a crossed-flags trademark and a letter 'B' and above the wording 'MARTINI'S PATENT', sliding safe above the trigger (frozen), straight-hand walnut butt-stock, chequered at the wrist, scroll engraved trigger-guard and finger-lever, chequered splinter fore-end with horn cap (separating) and eyelets for sling (the whole with a fair amount of original finish and some areas of corrosion, some deep)
